Weekend Hike

This past Saturday, Eric and I went up to Zion National Park and hiked through The Narrows. It was so nice up there. The temperature was only about 72 and partly cloudy, it was a nice break from the Vegas 90 degree weather. The water on the other hand was pretty cold and I couldn't really feel my legs afterwards, but you get use to it. I don't know how far we hiked but I think it took us about 2 or 3 hours round trip. We got rained on a little towards the end, so we decided to turn around and head back down. I fell twice slamming my leg into a rock each time and ended up pulling a muscle in my thigh. Of course I fell after laughing at Eric for almost falling so I guess that was karma coming back at me. Eric helped me up but not before laughing at me first; he made sure I was ok and then he couldn't stop laughing. My legs/calfs are still a little stiff, but too bad. It was a really nice day getaway and we had a lot of fun.

There were so many of these little guys up there, and they come right up to you. This one was being fed sunflower seeds by some guy.

What have we been up to?

Let's see, where to begin...?

We have pretty much been up to the same old things around here. We celebrated Eric's birthday in April in which he turned 26 (and he still has to ask me how old he is whenever someone asks). We had a good Easter with his family and got to do our traditional easter egg hunt with just us "big kids". Eric and I won by finding the most money, only by like $2, but hey winning is winning right? In May my best friend that I grew up with came down to vistit for her birthday and stayed with us. It was great to see her and to go over the past. Eric and I found out that we are going to be an aunt & uncle again from Michelle & Eddy! Can't wait for that! And besides the more that everyone else has the less we have to worry about having our own right? Hmmm...if only it worked that way. =) Eric received a calling to be an assistant scout leader and just went on their first overnight camping trip last weekend. I know he loves it because he gets to camp and teach the boys the camping way of life; try to add anything else in there and I don't know. ;) Just kidding, I know he enjoys it. We went on our first annual lake trip of the season last month and decided that we were going to camp out for the weekend right on the water. Well, the weather turned ugly and we only made it one night and to pack up and come home early. It was still a lot of fun though, and it was great to hang out with everyone and just relax. Last week my niece graduated from Kindergarten and my mom came down, and we all took my niece out to a celebration dinner. It was a lot of fun and it's hard to believe she is already 6 years old, time sure does fly! Other than that there really isn't much else to report on. I will try not to let so much time pass before my next post. Until then, enjoy the few pictures below...
